In my opinion, the greatest thing to come out of the entire
Roman period of history is the writings of Aurelius.
I also enjoy the stories
of Cato, Aristides and other Roman greats, and I appreciate the writings of
Cicero, Virgil and several other Roman writers.
But I consider the
contributions of Marcus Aurelius the best of all things Roman.
Read his Meditations.
It is truly great reading on life, leadership, patriotism, family and
happiness.
