Emotion and Logic
It is a classic law of sales that people make most decisions
emotionally and then set out to defend them using logic.
The principle applies
also to politics.
We tend to attach ourselves to political parties and/or
candidates for emotional reasons and then force ourselves to reject logic when
our chosen parties and heroes inevitably go against our beliefs.
The rise of
independents as the real majority in American politics signals a growing
unwillingness to let emotion trump logic.
While this may never fully overtake
presidential campaigns, it is having a huge impact on local, state and
congressional elections--and freedom is the beneficiary.
Whatever your political affiliations, it is vital for all of
us to think as independently as possible.
Independence requires independent
thinking.
