Logic and Morality

The two major parties of the ancient world, according to Nietzsche, were the Appolinian and the Dionysian.

See if these two views sound familiar:

Appolinian

Dionysian

reason

passion

science

art

logic

beauty

optimism

pessimism

moderation

excess

morality

enjoyment

Somehow neither ancient party correlates exactly with the Democratic and Republican parties or the cultures of red and blue states.

Everything has changed somehow, and the most interesting thing to me about this change is that in the ancient division of worldviews science and logic were on the same side as moderation and morality.

Seems like that's worth thinking about...
