Who Speaks for the Working Man?
"Does Parliament ever for an instant look at any question
with the eyes of a working man?" asks J.S. Mill.
He goes on to show that the
answer is a resounding "no."
Political history and human nature being what they are, the working man must therefore advocate on his own behalf.
If the people are to remain free, we must
educate ourselves by reading the great books and history and we must
represent ourselves effectively in society.
