The American framers set up a government that was ultimately run by the regular
citizens. If the regular people don't run things, freedom will be lost.
This is
a great lesson of history, and it holds true today. If an elite class, any
elite group, runs the show, it will over time increase its own power and perks
at the expense of the masses.
But to run the nation, the regular people must understand
the world, and Americans today know and understand far too little about the
BRIC.
This acronym stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China, and these
nations are remaking the world right now.
It is vital to know a lot more about
them: history, language, current events, economics, class systems, culture,
etc. The inter-relations between these nations and their allies are especially
important.
It is not an overstatement to note that the 21st Century
is currently being built BRIC by BRIC.
