Volunteerism

Want to see government really change?

Get personally involved.

Most mayors, city council members, state legislators, school board members and other local leaders would love more help from committed and helpful volunteers.

Work with officials you support, so you don't end up just arguing with them.

Meet with them, offer your services, and get at least one small assignment from them.

Then do a fantastic job on it, and go volunteer to do something else.

If it doesn't work with one official, don't give up.

Keep volunteering until you are making a significant positive difference.

If you want to see our government improve, go get involved.

This brings a whole new meaning to Gandhi's suggestion to "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
